Welcome to the Stars and Stripes Forever web site.
December 11th, 2001. A date that will remain imprinted in
my mind as well as many others all around the world. A
New type of war was called upon the land of the free.
Many of us sat and watched in horror on the images
that were being shown throughout the TV screens
around the country.
Waking up that morning to the sound of Howard Stern on the radio who was reporting a plane just striking WTC tower 1 was a shock to me and I was unsure what to think, unknown if it was
a joke or what. I soon came to learn, it was anything but a joke.
I sat transfixed at my television as the first images played out on the screen. I wondered aloud if it was a tragic accident of the plane striking the WTC tower 1 when, to my horror, I watched a second plane strike into WTC tower 2.
I sat with my mouth wide open in absolute horror. Things racing through my mind, the who's, what's, how's and especially the why's. The following pages are my personal thoughts on what happened on that tragic September morning, along with a sight and sound journey I hope to take you on.
